Would you really prefer a low VOC petrochemical based 'green-wash' paint
to a healthier and sustainable alternative made from 100% biodegradable
eco friendly natural and
organic raw materials?
Although we contacted several companies during our search for
environmentally friendly sustainable paint, we found ONLY ONE which was willing to
answer all our questions and provide a full and complete declaration of product content. Their approach has always been proactive, open, frank and professional.
We liked them so much we are now their
Premier UK Supplier.
For example, when we asked about 'Low VOC', they provided an interesting; but technical,
explanation about how a natural coating which may contain orange oil
(as a natural solvent) would not necessarily receive a low VOC rating.
The real irony, therefore, about VOC is that a natural solvent, such as
orange oil, may also have a VOC rating equal or higher to that of one
based on petrochemical solvents. However, although producers of
petrochemical based paints are quick to highlight this point, and on
occasion use it to suggest the petrochemical solvent is as safe as
natural orange oil, our customers tell us that given the choice,
natural orange oil is preferable to a petrochemical solvent.
Thus, the issue is not so much about the level of VOC a product may
contain, but is more to do with what is generating it. For us,
Natural Paint was, and still remains, the only sensible option for our
family, home, and the planet.
