Mildew: Formation and Remedy - Mould fungi are micro organisms that multiply through spores. They are invisible but present in the air and can settle everywhere. They prefer a Damp, Warm Organic surrounding.

There are two main reasons for interior mildew settlement:

  • Constructional defects like damage by water, new buildings not completely dried through, or cracks in the brickwork.

  • Inappropriate room ventilation and heating, especially houses that are built hermetical to save energy, with inadequate air-exchanges between rooms.

In either case, it is very important to find and eliminate the
cause
of infestation to prevent future mildew formation.

Mildew Removed: Now what? - Substrates prone to mildew formation; where the surface is now dry, can be recoated with a prophylactic application of 412 Mould Remover, which should be allowed to dry fully before repainting.
